The Taiwan Stock Exchange experienced a sharp selloff on Wednesday as the benchmark Taiex index plummeted 784.00 points, or 1.67 percent, to finish at its lowest level of the session at 46,164.72. Trading activity saw a significant cooling compared to the previous day, with total turnover reaching NT$918.39 billion, which is approximately US$28.95 billion. This represented a substantial drop from the NT$1.19 trillion in turnover recorded during Tuesday's trading.
